A STYLE BUILT FOR BOYS LOVE STORIES
Boys Love — BL, or yaoi — is about romance between male leads, and its art carries the story: lingering eye contact, soft lighting, expressive close-ups and the quiet moments between big emotional beats. Rivals to lovers, childhood friends, office slow burns and fantasy bonds are all part of the genre.
Most image generators treat romance as an afterthought, and commissioning an artist for every chapter gets expensive fast. Mankai's Boys Love style is designed for these stories. Describe your couple and your plot, and Mankai lays out romantic, cinematic pages with dialogue that fits the mood.
Because you pick the characters, your couple looks like your couple on every page — and you can continue their story in new episodes whenever inspiration strikes.

A BL COMIC MAKER FOR FANS AND ORIGINAL CREATORS
Whether you write original Boys Love romances or want to see a new story for characters you've created, Mankai works like a BL comic maker that does the drawing for you. Describe the couple, the setting and the turning point — a confession at the station, a rivalry that softens, a fated reunion — and Mankai turns it into romantic manga pages.
BL readers care about chemistry and consistency. Mankai keeps both leads' faces, hair and outfits the same across every page, so the relationship reads naturally from the first glance to the last panel.
POPULAR BL TROPES TO START FROM
Rivals to lovers, childhood friends reunited, office slow burns, fake dating, bodyguard and prince, and fantasy fated mates are some of the most-loved Boys Love tropes. Each one gives you a ready-made source of tension, which is exactly what makes a short BL chapter satisfying.
Pick a trope, add one unexpected twist, and Mankai's AI BL manga generator handles the panels, lighting and dialogue.
FROM IDEA TO MANGA IN THREE STEPS
- 01
Pick the Boys Love style
Mankai switches to romance-focused art with four panels per page — room for both tension and tenderness.
- 02
Choose your cast
Pick up to 8 characters — Mankai's preset heroes or your own, created from a photo. Their faces stay the same on every page, so your story reads like a real series.
- 03
Describe your romance
How do they meet? What keeps them apart? Write it, and Mankai plans the scenes, draws the pages and adds the dialogue.
BL STORY IDEAS
“Two rival chefs are forced to share one kitchen for a televised competition — and only one of them is pretending to hate it.”
“A knight sworn to protect the prince realises the assassin he's hunting is the boy who saved his life years ago.”
“Childhood best friends reunite at a wedding where one of them was supposed to be the groom.”
“A night-shift barista and the regular who only ever orders for two.”
START WITH A CHARACTER — OR BRING YOUR OWN
Pick one of Mankai’s preset heroes, or upload a photo and turn yourself, a friend or your original character into the lead. The same face stays consistent on every page.
